Kansas City, Kansas, police officers responded to a report of a shooting at 11:05 p.m. Wednesday, April 3, in the 1000 block of Lafayette Avenue, according to a police spokesman.
When they arrived, police officers found a man who had been shot, the spokesman stated. Personnel from the Kansas City, Kansas, Fire Department also responded and confirmed the victim was dead, the spokesman stated.
The identity of the victim will be released when there is positive identification and family notification, according to the spokesman.
An investigation is being conducted by the Criminal Investigations Division of the Kansas City, Kansas, Police Department. Anyone with information is asked to call the TIPS hotline at 816-474-TIPS.
