Authorities catch cookie dough suspect after chase crossing state line

Authorities apprehended a cookie dough suspect today at Leavenworth Road near I-435 in Kansas City, Kansas.

A chase of about 40 minutes crossed back and forth from Kansas to Missouri, as Kansas Highway Patrol troopers and Missouri law enforcement officers chased an allegedly stolen box truck that contained a load of cookie dough, according to Technical Trooper Candice Breshears, of the KHP’s Troop A.

The suspect was taken into custody about 10:40 a.m. Wednesday, and was taken to a hospital as a precautionary measure, according to Breshears.

The box truck was stolen earlier from a business in Kansas City, Missouri, she said.

Breshears said troopers used stop sticks to deflate the tires of the box truck. It took several attempts.

“Several tires were deflated before the vehicle was stopped,” she said.
