One Kansas City, Kan., resident was appointed by Gov. Sam Brownback to a state board recently.
Lew Levin, Kansas City, Kan., the Unified Government’s chief financial officer, was appointed to the state Pooled Money Investment Board.
The board is responsible for investing money from the state general fund, as well as hundreds of other state funds deposited with the state treasurer. It also provides investment management services for other state agencies.
It also manages the Kansas Municipal Investment Pool, which provides an investment alternative for local governments in Kansas.
All members of the board must be confirmed by the Kansas Senate.
Levin received his bachelor’s degree from Rutgers University, Livingston College, and his Master of Science and MCP from the University of Pennsylvania.
