The Kansas City, Kansas, Branch NAACP has scheduled a medallion ceremony April 2 for veterans of the Vietnam era.
The recognition program will include a Vietnam Era Medallion, medal and certificate of appreciation from the state of Kansas to veterans in Kansas.
The program is open to men and women veterans who served during the Vietnam era. The program is free to all Kansas veterans who meet the guidelines.
Officials from the Kansas Commission on Veterans Affairs Office will present a Vietnam War medallion, medal and certificate to the veteran or their family member during a ceremony at 7 p.m. Tuesday, April 2, at the NAACP office, second-floor conference room, Bethany Medical Office Building, 21 N. 12th St., Kansas City, Kansas.
The public is invited to attend. Also invited are past recipients of the medallion, medal and certificate, as a way to show their appreciation to veterans for their service to the country. Former recipients may wear their medal, if they desire.
