Two persons were injured in a wreck at 9:25 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 26, on eastbound I-670, about a half-mile east of Mill Street in Kansas City, Kansas.
The two persons who were injured were eastbound in a Mercury passenger car that was traveling at a high rate of speed, the Kansas Highway Patrol trooper’s report stated. The Mercury then went out of control and struck the back of a Ford box truck, according to the trooper’s report.
The Kansas City, Kansas, Fire Department responded for heavy rescue on trapped parties.
A passenger in the Mercury, a 38-year-old woman from Johnson County, Kansas, was injured and taken to a hospital, the report stated. She has a suspected serious injury.

The driver of the box truck, a 36-year-old man from Kansas City, Kansas, had no apparent injury, the trooper’s report stated.
