Wyandotte County to be under winter weather advisory from 6 p.m. Saturday through 6 a.m. Sunday

A winter weather advisory will be in effect from 6 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 16, through 6 a.m. Sunday, Feb. 17, according to the National Weather Service.

More snow is expected tonight, according to the weather service.

The forecast for tonight calls for snow, possibly mixed with freezing rain, before 3 a.m., followed by more snow and freezing drizzle from 3 a.m. to 4 a.m., then a chance of snow after 4 a.m., the weather service said. About an inch of snow is predicted in Wyandotte County.

Roads may become slippery and visibility may be affected, according to the weather service. Motorists should use caution.

Today, there is a 40 percent chance of snow, mainly after 5 p.m., the weather service said. The high will be near 28 with an east wind of 6 to 9 mph.

Tonight, there is an 80 percent chance of snow, possibly mixed with freezing rain before 3 a.m., then snow and freezing drizzle between 3 a.m. and 4 a.m.,then a chance of snow after 4 a.m., according to the weather service. The low will be around 22 with an east wind of 5 to 8 mph becoming calm after midnight. Little or no ice accumulation is expected. New snow accumulation may be about an inch.

Sunday, it will be mostly cloudy, with a high of 30 and a west northwest wind of 5 to 11 mph, gusting as high as 21 mph, the weather service said.

Sunday night, the low will be around 16 with a northwest wind of 7 to 9 mph, according to the weather service.

Monday, Presidents Day, it will be partly sunny, with a high near 28 and a north northwest wind of 7 mph, the weather service said.

Monday night, it will be mostly cloudy, with a low of 16, according to the weather service.

Tuesday, there will be a 50 percent chance of snow after noon, with a high near 27, the weather service said.

Tuesday night, there will be an 80 percent chance of snow, with a low of 22, according to the weather service.
