UG meeting topics tonight include scooters, trash contract amendment, charity grants and travel report

The Unified Government Commission is scheduled to take up several issues on Thursday, Feb. 14.

The 7 p.m. meeting will be held in the Commission Chambers, lobby level, City Hall, 701 N. 7th St., Kansas City, Kansas.

On the agenda are ordinances regulating electric scooters, adding progressive design-build for city construction projects, authorizing a survey for the BPU to install ductile iron pipe at 89th and Parallel Parkway to I-435 and France Family Drive, negotiating a contract amendment with Waste Management to address how residential units are calculated and penalties, and amending weed and mowing violations.

Also on the agenda is a report on 2018 UG Commission travel and community event expenditures.

Several Land Bank items also are on the agenda for Thursday.

There also is a special session scheduled at 5 p.m. Feb. 14 for the UG Commission. It will be in the fifth floor meeting room at City Hall, 701 N. 7th St., Kansas City, Kansas.

The commission will hear a presentation at 5 p.m. on the Hollywood Casino – SVV (Schlitterbahn Vacation Village) charity grants, followed by a discussion on priority-based budgeting.
