Today is National Wear Red Day

Today is National Wear Red Day, and the American Heart Association is asking women to wear red as part of its Go Red for Women movement.

According to the American Heart Association, heart disease is the No. 1 killer of women, taking more lives than all forms of cancer combined. Heart disease and stroke claim the lives of one in three women, according to the association.

To prevent and treat heart disease and stroke, women should understand family health history, know their five key personal health numbers to help determine risk and make healthy behavior changes like moving more, eating smart and managing blood pressure, the heart association stated.
