KC Foodie Park on Thursday night UG agenda

The proposed KC Foodie Park, a business development at the former Indian Springs Shopping Center site near 46th and State Avenue, is on the 7 p.m. agenda Thursday, Jan. 31, at the Commission Chambers, City Hall, 701 N. 7th St., Kansas City, Kansas.

The KC Foodie Park zoning is on the Unified Government Commission meeting agenda at 7 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 31.

The meeting will be held at the Commission Chambers, lobby level, City Hall, 701 N. 7th St., Kansas City, Kansas.

The KC Foodie Park, a business development by Scavuzzo’s food distribution company, is planned for the former Indian Springs Shopping Center site at 4601 State Ave., Kansas City, Kansas.

The mixed-use development is proposed to have a distribution and food service center, office and commercial buildings at the site. Three restaurant pads are shown on the plans along the State Avenue side of the property.

The proposed change of zone is from a planned business park, planned commercial and planned limited business districts to planned light industrial and industrial park, planned non-retail business and planned general business districts. A master plan amendment for the project also is on the agenda.

Also on the agenda for the 7 p.m. Jan. 31 meeting is a vote on the appointment of a Municipal Court administrative judge for the remainder of Judge Maurice Ryan’s four-year term. A special session of the UG will be held at 5 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 31, in the fifth floor conference room, City Hall, 701 N. 7th St., Kansas City, Kansas, for the municipal court judge selection.

Several other planning and zoning items are on the 7 p.m. agenda, including:

• 13820 Donahoo Road, change of zone from Wyandotte County agriculture to city agriculture district for Family Tree Nursery greenhouse plant production building.

• 2600 N. 43rd Terrace, renewal of a special use permit for temporary use of land for modular classrooms at William Allen White School.

• 1900 N. 1st St., renewal of a special use permit for the temporary use of land for storage trailers and a cooler for the market farm training program and community garden, Cultivate KC.

• 813 Barnett Ave., vacation of an alley, BHC Rhodes.

• 3801 Leavenworth Road, change of zone from limited business district to general business district for X-Press Mart convenience store with fueling pumps.

• 5401 State Ave., revocation of a special use permit for the temporary use of land to keep two storage container units on the site, recommended for revocation.

• Plat of King Estates, second plat, 124th Terrace north of Hollingsworth Road.

• Plat of Delaware Park, North 74th Drive south of State Avenue, being developed by NorthPoint Development.

Other items on the agenda:

• Public hearing on an agreement with Bonner Springs for street maintenance and police services to the unincorporated area of Loring for an additional year. Bonner Springs would provide the services.

• Public Partnership Agreement with the Kaw Valley Drainage District and the Army Corps of Engineers to secure federal funds concerning flood control.

• Authorizing the sale of municipal temporary notes, estimated at $44.4 million.

• Approval to issue city general obligation bonds, and to sell city general obligation improvement bonds, estimated at $18 million.
