KCK resident receives grant to study in England

Mia Richardson of Kansas City, Kan., has been awarded a Journey Grant from William Jewell College.

Richardson will leave on a journey to Oxford, England, during the 2014-2015 academic year to study political philosophy at The Centre for Medieval and Renaissance Studies.

Richardson was a junior studying Oxbridge institutions and policy during the fall semester at William Jewell in Liberty, Mo.

William Jewell’s Journey Grant is a distinctive experience that encourages exploration, discovery, adventure and change, anywhere in the world. Students who have completed their sophomore year may apply for a self-designed grant such as a research project, study-away experience, entrepreneurial opportunity, internship, civic engagement initiative or service project. Journey Grants are a minimum of $2,000, with the opportunity for additional funds awarded on a competitive basis.
