Eagle Days to be Jan. 20
Because of inclement weather on Saturday, Jan. 19, Eagle Days will be held on Sunday only, Jan. 20. The programs will be scheduled from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 20, at the Mr. and Mrs. F.L. Schlagle Library and at the James P. Davis Hall at Wyandotte County Lake Park, 91st and Leavenworth Road. The 18th annual Eagle Days programs will be held at the Mr. and Mrs. F.L. Schlagle Library and the James P. Davis Hall at the lake park, 91st and Leavenworth Road. Live bird exhibits are being provided by Operation Wildlife. The programs are free and open to the public. MLK celebration to be Jan. 21
The Kansas City, Kansas, MLK celebration will be at 11 a.m. Monday, Jan. 21, at the Jack Reardon Convention Center, 5th and Minnesota Avenue, Kansas City, Kansas. The guest speaker will be Professor Robert Smith Jr. of Samford University, Beeson Divinity School, Birmingham, Alabama. The theme of the event is “Empowering People to Live in Harmony, Love, Unity and Commitment.”

Keeler Center to be closed Jan. 21
The Keeler Women’s Center will be closed on Monday, Jan. 21, in honor of the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Day.

Open house planned on Hutton Road improvements
An open house is planned from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. Monday, Jan. 28, on Hutton Road improvements. The open house will be at 3430 Hutton Road, Kansas City, Kansas. Hutton Road is being reconstructed between Cleveland Avenue and Leavenworth Road, with new pavement, curbs, gutters, storm sewers, sidewalks and street lights. Residents may attend to learn more about the project.

UG Committee meetings planned Jan. 28

Storm water open house planned Jan. 29

The happy hour event originally scheduled for Jan. 16 has been rescheduled because of inclement weather.
