Kansas City, Kansas, firefighters responded to an apartment fire about 3:22 p.m. Monday, Jan. 14, at the Royal Ridge Apartments, 7350 State Ave.
According to Assistant Chief James (Morris) Letcher, a spokesman for the Fire Department, some residents were evacuated from the building. There were no injuries.
It was a one-unit fire, and it appears there was about $10,000 to $20,000 worth of damage, he said.
At this time, it appears the cause of the fire could be related to food on the stove, he said. It was quickly extinguished.
