Red Cross assisting victims of home fire on North 15th in KCK

The Red Cross is assisting three residents of a home at 215 N. 15th St. that burned last night.

There were no injuries to the three residents or firefighters, but two dogs were found deceased during searches.

According to a spokesman for the Kansas City, Kansas, Fire Department, dispatchers received the alarm about the fire at 8:05 p.m. Jan. 9.

When firefighters arrived, they saw fire coming from a second-story bedroom at the residence. Firefighters began attacking the fire.

Three residents escaped the fire unharmed, according to the spokesman.

The damage to the home was reported as about $40,000.
