Rain expected through Thursday

Rain has returned Wednesday morning and will continue off-and-on through Thursday morning, according to the National Weather Service.

Forecast rainfall totals through Thursday are 1 to 1.5 inches in Wyandotte County, the weather service said.

Breezy conditions in combination with rain could make travel difficult tonight, according to the weather service.

Today, showers are expected, mainly before 11 a.m., with a high of 52, the weather service said. A southeast wind of 10 to 15 mph may gust as high as 22 mph. Between a quarter and half-inch of rain is possible.

Tonight, there is a 100 percent chance of showers, with a low of 51, according to the weather service. An east southeast wind of 10 to 15 mph will gust as high as 22 mph. Between a half and three-quarters of an inch is possible.

Thursday, there is a 30 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms before 3 p.m., then a slight chance of showers, the weather service said. The temperature will rise to near 59 by noon, then fall to around 48 during the remainder of the day. A south southeast wind of 13 to 15 mph will become west southwest in the afternoon. Winds may gust as high as 26 mph.

Thursday night, it will be mostly cloudy with a low of 26, according to the weather service. A west wind of 10 to 15 mph may gust as high as 24 mph.

Friday, it will be partly sunny with a high near 33, the weather service said. A west northwest wind of 9 to 11 mph will gust as high as 21 mph.

Friday night, it will be mostly cloudy, with a low of 18, according to the weather service.

Saturday, it will be partly sunny with a high near 27, the weather service said.

Saturday night, it will be partly cloudy, with a low of 19, according to the weather service.

Sunday, it will be sunny with a high near 41, the weather service said.

Sunday night, it will be mostly clear with a low of 27, according to the weather service.

Monday, it will be mostly sunny, with a high near 40, the weather service said.

Monday night, New Year’s Eve, it will be mostly cloudy, with a low of 20, according to the weather service.

Monday, New Year’s Day, it will be mostly sunny, with a high near 32, the weather service said.
