A fatal shooting has been reported about 5:08 p.m. Saturday near 39th and Rainbow Boulevard in Kansas City, Kansas.
According to a police spokesman, a woman in her 20s suffered a gunshot wound. The victim of the shooting was taken to a hospital. Although originally the injury was thought to be non-life-threatening, the hospital later reported the victim died during surgery.
Police have identified a suspect in the homicide case, according to a social media post by the police chief.
