Kansas City, Kansas, firefighters responded to a fire at the Board of Public Utilities Nearman plant on North 55th Street near the Missouri River this morning.
According to a Fire Department spokesman, a conveyor belt caught on fire about an hour ago. The fire has been brought under control, the spokesman said.
The Nearman plant was evacuated and no one was injured, according to the spokesman.
