Police investigate homicide on North 52nd

Kansas City, Kansas, police are investigating a homicide in the 2600 block of North 52nd Street.

Officers responded to the location about 2:46 a.m. Sunday, Dec. 16, and determined there had been a shooting, according to a police spokesman. Originally it had been thought of as an injury accident.

A male in his mid-teens was found dead at the scene, according to police. A female had been shot and is currently in stable condition, the police spokesman stated.

A vehicle was in the area of 52nd and Georgia when shooting began, then traveled south of 52nd Street, where it crashed, according to the police spokesman.

Five teens were in the car, the spokesman stated. The other three teens were treated for minor injuries, according to police.
