A Kansas City, Kansas, police spokesman stated there would be no criminal charges filed in connection with an alleged threat at Piper High School.
After investigating, police have determined there was no evidence to support criminal charges about the alleged threat of a school shooting at Piper, the spokesman stated.
An investigation revealed a threat was never made by the suspect, police stated. Probable cause for the arrest was based on misinformation provided by a witness, the spokesman stated.
Police had stated on Tuesday that a student was taken into custody on allegations of a threat.
The police spokesman stated the police department takes all threats involving school shootings seriously and will seek charges against those responsible for making the threats.
Also, making false allegations and reports to the police is a crime and will be investigated, the spokesman stated.
