At 8 a.m. Monday, the temperature was 23 degrees in Wyandotte County, and temperatures are expected to rise to 42 this afternoon.
Temperatures will gradually warm through midweek with temperatures approaching the upper 40s to lower 50s by Tuesday, the National Weather Service said.
A mid and then late week system will bring chances for rain and snow to portions of Missouri, according to the weather service.
There could be some trailing snow showers as each system departs, but at this time significant accumulations are not expected, the weather service said.

There was freezing rain the first three days of December in 1985 and on each day between Dec. 9 and 15. It was the fourth coldest December on record in Kansas City, with an average temperature of 22.9 degrees, according to the weather service.
