According to a news release from the Unified Government, the snow emergency went into effect at 3:30 p.m.

The ordinance states that no one can operate a motor vehicle on the street in a way that allows the vehicle to be stalled. Drivers may be fined or have their vehicles towed away if it is stalled or blocks streets, according to the ordinance.

Bus service in Kansas City, Kansas, was discontinued after 6 p.m. Sunday. Road crews are working to treat and plow roads, according to the UG.
