Recent food recalls include ground turkey, ground beef, asparagus, cake mixes and romaine lettuce

If any of these foods are on your menu, in your refrigerator or freezer, check to see if they have been recalled:

Asparagus spears – The Pictsweet Company has recalled 8-ounce Steam’ables Asparagus Spears because of potential for listeria monocytogenes. The packages have a best by Aug. 1, 2020 date, UPC code 0 70560 97799 9 with production codes beginning with the following six digits: 2138XD. Some of the product was shipped to Missouri. Cake mixes – Four Duncan Hines cake mixes were recalled because of potential salmonella. They are classic white, classic butter golden, signature confetti and classic yellow cake mixes. Ground turkey – Jennie-O Turkey Store Sales has recalled raw ground turkey because of possible salmonella reading contamination. The products were produced Sept. 11, 2018. Products recalled include one-pound packages of Jennie-O Ground Turkey 93 percent lean with use by dates of Oct. 1, 2018, and Oct. 2, 2018; one-pound packages of Jennie-O Taco Seasoned Ground Turkey with a use by date of Oct. 2, 2018; one-pound packages of Jennie-O Ground Turkey 85 percent lean with a use by date of Oct. 2, 2018; one-pound packages of Jennie-O seasoned ground turkey with a use by date of Oct. 2, 2018; and one-pound packages of ground turkey 90 percent lean with a use by date of Oct. 2, 2018. Recalled products have the establishment number P-190 inside a USDA inspection market. The items were shipped nationwide. Consumers should not eat these products, according to FSIS. Ground beef – Swift Beef Co. has recalled ground beef products because of possible e. coli contamination. The ground beef was produced on Oct. 24, 2018. Recalled items include 2,000-pound bulk pallets of Swift Ground Beef 81 percent lean, fine grind combo with product code 42982; 8-10 pound plastic wrapped chubs of blue ribbon beef, ground beef 81 percent lean, coarse grind bearing product code 42410; 8-10-pound plastic wrapped chubs of blue ribbon beef, ground beef 93 percent lean, coarse grind bearing product code 42413; 8-10-pound plastic-wrapped chubs of blue ribbon beef, ground beef 85 percent lean, coarse grind bearing product code 42415; 8-10-pound plastic wrapped chubs of blue ribbon beef, ground beef 73 percent lean, coarse grind bearing produce code 42510.

Romaine lettuce – The CDC is advising U.S. consumers not eat any romaine lettuce. There is a multi-state outbreak of shiga toxin-producing Escherichia coli (e. coli) infections linked to romaine lettuce, according to the CDC. The CDC advises not eating any kinds of romaine lettuce, including whole heads of romaine, hearts of romaine and bags and boxes of precut lettuce and salad mixes containing romaine, including baby romaine, spring mix and Caesar salad.
