Weather: Mild and sunny today, cooler weather, snow on weekend

Today’s temperatures will reach a high of 47, while cooler weather and possibly snow are in the forecast for the weekend, according to the National Weather Service.

About an inch of snow is possible with the weekend round of light snow, the weather service said.

A weak cold front will move through the area early Friday morning, but should not affect temperatures much, according to the weather service.

A stronger cold front is expected to overtake the region on Saturday, accompanied by light wintry precipitation, and again later on Saturday through early Sunday morning, the weather service said.

The combination of less than an inch of snow, breezy north winds and temperatures dropping into the 20s could create some travel hazards on the weekend, according to the weather service.

Briefly colder temperatures will follow for Sunday, then a warming trend will begin Monday and continue through at least midweek, the weather service said. Looking ahead to the Thanksgiving weekend, there is a chance of a possibly wetter-than-normal period toward the end of next week, continuing into next weekend, according to the weather service, although the forecast is not yet certain.

Today, it will be sunny with a high near 47 and a south wind of 6 to 9 mph, the weather service said.

Tonight, expect a low of 31 with mostly clear skies and a southwest wind of 5 to 7 mph becoming west northwest in the evening, according to the weather service.

Friday, it will be sunny with a high near 52 and a light and variable wind becoming south southwest around 6 mph in the afternoon, the weather service said.

Friday night, it will be partly cloudy with a low of 32 and a south wind of 6 mph becoming light and variable, according to the weather service.

Saturday, the high will be near 40 with mostly cloudy skies and a north northeast wind of 5 to 13 mph, the weather service said.

Saturday night, there is a 30 percent chance of rain and snow before 7 p.m., then a chance of snow afterward. The low will be about 25. Less than a tenth of an inch of snow is expected.

Sunday, it will be partly sunny with a high near 35, the weather service said.

Sunday night, it will be mostly clear with a low of 23, according to the weather service.

Monday, it will be sunny with a high near 46, the weather service said.

Monday night, it will be mostly clear with a low of 30, according to the weather service.

Tuesday, it will be sunny with a high near 48, the weather service said.

Tuesday night, it will be mostly clear with a low of 33, according to the weather service.

Wednesday, it will be sunny with a high near 54, the weather service said.
