  1. Crowborough Branch of the Royal British Legion in East Sussex, England UK has raised funds for a new memorial to the crew of a B-26B Marauder Bomber which crashed in Crowborough. Further details can be found at the link given below. As 2nd Lt Laurence E. Carrigan USAAF came from Wyandotte we thought this may be of interest to your readers. Whilst the crews names are on the town memorial it was felt that a more detailed one should be in place close to the crash site for the 75th Anniversary. The unveiling will take place at 11.am 26th January 2019 at the Bricklayer Arms Crowborough. The Memorial stone tablet which is 4 inches thick, 33 inches wide and 42 inches long will be installed in an improved flower bed to the front of the Public House. If there are any relatives or veterans that remember or have knowledge related to Laurence Carrigan we would very much appreciate details.
Crowborough torch lit Carnival which is held every year in September has a 20 minute stop at the Bricklayers Arms as it proceeds around the Town and it is proposed to lay a wreath there each year.

  2. Looking for any information about 2nd Lt Laurence E. Carrigan. He was from Wyandotte County.
I’m retired USAF and squadron historian for the 555th Fighter Squadron, Aviano Air Base Italy.
Working on a history project for the squadron, tracing their roots back to WW-II when they flew the B-26.
Just would like to know (if possible) where Lt. Carrigan was born, high school, any jobs he held prior to the military, when he enlisted and where his Bomber/Navigation school was or class he was assigned to. Any help would be most appreciated.
    Thank you.
    Kindest Regards,
