Freeze warning for Tuesday morning, as temperatures drop

Temperatures dropped into the 30s on Monday morning, with a freeze warning issued from 1 a.m. to 9 a.m. Tuesday, according to the National Weather Service.

Sunday night saw a few snowflakes in Wyandotte County, but most of them melted and did not stick to the ground.

There were a few slick spots on the roads this morning. Temperatures will rise to about 47 during the day today, then fall again overnight, with a freeze warning in effect Tuesday morning, the weather service said.

Any garden produce still outdoors probably should be brought indoors today.

Concerns about river flooding are lessening, with Missouri and Kansas river levels falling in Wyandotte County, according to hydrology charts from the National Weather Service.

Cool and dry weather is in today’s forecast from the weather service. River levels in other cities have dropped, although some are still in a minor flood stage.

Today, the high will be near 47 with sunny skies and a north northwest wind of 6 to 8 mph, the weather service said.

Tonight, the low will be around 32 with a southwest wind of 3 to 5 mph, according to the weather service. Widespread frost is possible after 1 a.m.

Tuesday, there will be widespread frost, mainly before 8 a.m. It will be sunny with a high near 60 and a southwest wind of 6 to 9 mph.

Tuesday night, it will be clear with a low of 40 and a west wind of 3 to 5 mph, according to the weather service.

Wednesday, it will be sunny with a high of 59 and a north wind of 3 to 7 mph, the weather service said.

Wednesday night, it will be clear with a low of 38, according to the weather service.

Thursday, it will be sunny with a high near 58, the weather service said.

Thursday night, there is a 30 percent chance of showers after 1 a.m., with a low of 48, according to the weather service.

Friday, it will be partly sunny with a high near 62, the weather service said.

Friday night, it will be mostly clear with a low of 43, according to the weather service.

Saturday, it will be sunny with a high near 58, the weather service said.

Saturday night, it will be clear with a low of 38, according to the weather service.

Sunday, it will be sunny with a high near 57, the weather service said.

Some snowflakes mixed with rain fell on Sunday night in Wyandotte County. Mostly, the snow melted when it hit the ground.
