The Kansas City, Kansas, Women’s Chamber of Commerce will sponsor Purses with a Purpose, a fundraising event, at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 17, at the Kansas City Kansas Community College TEC Center, 6565 State Ave., Kansas City, Kansas.
The program will feature Dawn Ridgnal Rattan, guest speaker. A Sumner Academy and Florida A&M graduate, she is a chemical engineer who owns and manages EverFit and Village West Discount Liquors.
The event includes food, wine, auction items and prizes. The cost is $15.
Proceeds support the Kansas City, Kansas, Women’s Chamber of Commerce scholarship program for nontraditional women students.
