Expect a chance of showers and isolated thunderstorms in some of the region today and this week, according to the National Weather Service.
No hazardous weather is expected, the weather service said. Rain is in the forecast for northeast Kansas and northwest Missouri. The Wyandotte County forecast does not call for rain on Monday and Tuesday, but rain is expected on Wednesday night.
On Wednesday, expect strong winds with a chance for thunderstorms from late Wednesday into Thursday, according to the weather service.
Today, it will be mostly cloudy with a high near 81, with a south southwest wind of 7 to 15 mph, gusting as high as 22 mph, the weather service said.
Tonight, it will be mostly cloudy with a low of 64 and a southwest wind of 5 to 8 mph becoming calm after midnight, according to the weather service.
Tuesday, it will be partly sunny with a high near 86 and a south wind of 5 to 13 mph, according to the weather service.
Tuesday night, expect a low of 72 with a south wind of 10 to 13 mph, according to the weather service.
Wednesday, it will be partly sunny with a high near 88, the weather service said. It will be breezy, with a south wind of 14 to 23 mph, gusting as high as 32 mph.
Wednesday night, there is an 80 percent chance of precipitation, with showers and thunderstorms possible mainly after 1 a.m., according to the weather service. The low will be around 67. Between a quarter and half-inch of rain is expected.
Thursday, there is a 60 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms, mainly before 1 p.m., with a high near 75, the weather service said.
Thursday night, there is a 50 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms, with a low of 66, according to the weather service.
Friday, there is a 50 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms, with a high near 81, the weather service said.
