KCK Police Department to receive Justice Department grant

The Kansas City, Kansas, Police Department will receive $700,000 from the U.S. Department of Justice to continue its Violent Crimes Task Force.

The grant announcement was made recently by Attorney General Jeff Sessions, who visited Kansas recently with U.S. Sen. Jerry Moran, R-Kansas.

Sessions visited the U.S. attorney’s office in Kansas City, Kansas. Sen. Moran and Sessions also toured the Kansas Law Enforcement Training Center facility in Hutchinson, Kansas.

Sessions also announced a grant of $100,500 to the Wichita Police Department to purchase 67 body cameras, and $428,424 for Cowley County to enhance drug court services and recovery support services.
