Four persons had possible injuries in a five-vehicle accident about 8 a.m. today on eastbound I-70 at 78th Street, according to a Kansas Highway Patrol trooper’s report.
The trooper’s report stated that traffic had slowed and come to a stop for an unknown reason on I-70 when the accident occurred.
A 2017 BMW did not stop in time, and struck a Nissan in the rear, the trooper’s report stated. The Nissan struck a Dodge Durango. Then the Nissan rotated and struck a Volkswagen Jetta and a Chevy Impala, according to the trooper’s report.
The driver of the BMW, a 39-year-old Lenexa, Kansas, woman, had a possible injury, the trooper’s report stated.
The driver of the Nissan, a 49-year-old St. Joseph, Missouri, man, was injured and taken to a hospital, the trooper’s report stated.
The driver of the Dodge Durango, a 41-year-old Kansas City, Kansas, man, had a possible injury, according to the trooper’s report.
The driver of the Volkswagen Jetta, a 26-year-old Topeka, Kansas, man, was not injured, the report stated.
The driver of the Chevy Impala, a 48-year-old Kansas City, Kansas, woman, had a possible injury, according to the trooper’s report.
