Rewards increased up to $5,000 for information leading to homicide arrests

The Greater Kansas City Crime Stoppers TIPS Hotline has increased the reward for information leading to an arrest or filing of charges in a Kansas City, Kansas, homicide case to up to $5,000, according to an announcement today.

Since 2014 the reward amount was up to $2,000 at Crime Stoppers.

Because of cooperation between the Unified Government and Crime Stoppers, the reward was increased in the hope that residents will provide information to the TIPS hotline regarding any homicide in Kansas City, Kansas, a spokesman stated. The information is kept confidential.

In Kansas City, Missouri, the reward is up to $10,000 for information leading to arrests or convictions in homicides.

The TIPS hotline has received anonymous tips from the community since 1982. Law enforcement officers in the area have used the tips to solve cold cases and felony crimes.

Anyone with crime-solving information is asked to contact Crime Stoppers Greater Kansas City TIPS hotline at 816-474-TIPS. TIPs also may be submitted electronically at www.KCcrimestoppers.com, or by downloading a new mobile app, P3TIPS, on Google Play or the Apple IOS stores for free.
