Funeral arrangements have been announced for two slain Wyandotte County sheriff’s deputies.
A visitation for Deputy Theresa King, who was killed in a shooting near the courthouse Friday, will be held from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday, June 20, at the Reardon Civic Center, 500 Minnesota Ave., Kansas City, Kansas. This visitation is for Deputy King only.
Deputy Patrick Rohrer, who also was killed on Friday near the courthouse, will not have a public visitation.
Parking for the public on Wednesday will be in a lot across from the Reardon Center, on the south side of Minnesota Avenue.
The media will not be allowed inside the Reardon Center for the visitation, according to a Kansas City, Kansas, police spokesman, but they may be in a parking lot outside the building.
A combined funeral service for both deputies will be held at 9 a.m. Thursday, June 21, at Children’s Mercy Park, where Sporting KC plays. The complex is near The Legends, near I-435 and I-70. Parking will be at the nearby Kansas Speedway.
