A six-vehicle accident was reported about 5:52 p.m. Monday, April 9, on northbound I-35 north of 18th Street Expressway.
According to the Kansas Highway Patrol trooper’s report, a 2001 Jeep sport utility vehicle was northbound on I-35, lost control and struck the inside wall.
Then a 1998 Jeep SUV lost control, striking the inside shoulder and coming to rest in the first lane, the trooper’s report stated. The 1998 Jeep SUV then struck the 2001 Jeep SUV, according to the trooper’s report.
Then a Ford Focus struck the 1998 Jeep SUV, a Ford commercial vehicle struck a Nissan Rouge, and the Nissan Rouge struck an International semi pulling a trailer, according to the trooper’s report.
The driver of the 2001 Jeep SUV, a 25-year-old man from Kansas City, Kansas, was injured and taken to a hospital, according to the report.
The driver of the 1998 Jeep SUV, a 22-year-old woman from Phoenix, Arizona, was not injured, the report stated.
The driver of the Ford Focus, a 57-year-old man from Linn Valley, Kansas, was injured and taken to a hospital, according to the trooper’s report.
The driver of the Ford commercial vehicle, a 33-year-old man from Overland Park, Kansas, was not injured, the report stated.
The driver of the Nissan Rouge, a 25-year-old woman from Ottawa, Kansas, was not injured, according to the report.
The driver of the International semi, a 38-year-old man from Weir, Kansas, was not injured, the report stated.
