Wrong-way driver injured in I-70 ramp accident

A 20-year-old man drove a Toyota Tacoma the wrong way on a ramp from eastbound I-70 to Kaw Drive on April 1 and was injured, according to a Kansas Turnpike Authority trooper’s crash log report.

About 12:05 a.m., the Toyota entered the ramp to Kaw Drive in the wrong direction, and ran into a woman driving a Nissan Maxima on a curve on the ramp. The vehicles hit head-on, at an offset, according to the trooper’s report.

The driver of the Toyota, a 20-year-old man from Olathe, Kansas, was injured and taken to a hospital, according to the report.

The driver of the Maxima, a 33-year-old Kansas City, Kansas, woman, was not injured, the report stated.
