Thunderstorms are possible across the area Friday evening into Saturday, according to the National Weather Service.

The threat of severe weather is low at this time, and anywhere from a tenth to three-quarters of an inch of rain is expected, the weather service said.

Additional rounds of storms and showers are likely from Sunday evening through the middle of next week, which could lead to flooding in areas, according to the weather service.

Today, there is a chance of drizzle, mainly after 1 p.m., the weather service said. The high will be near 66 with an east southeast wind of 9 to 15 mph, gusting as high as 24 mph.

Tonight, there is a 70 percent chance of showers and possibly a thunderstorm before 4 a.m., then a chance of showers and thunderstorms after 4 p.m., according to the weather service. Patchy fog is possible between 10 p.m. and 4 a.m. The low will be around 49 with a southeast wind of 9 to 13 mph, becoming west southwest after midnight. Winds may gust as high as 23 mph. New rainfall amounts will be between a tenth and quarter of an inch.

Saturday, there is a 30 percent chance of showers before 7 a.m., with a high near 52, the weather service said. There will be a north wind of 11 to 14 mph, with gusts as high as 24 mph. Less than a tenth of an inch of rain is expected.

Saturday night, the low will be around 35 with mostly cloudy skies and a northeast wind of 8 to 11 mph, according to the weather service.

Sunday, there will be a 40 percent chance of showers, with a high near 54, and an east wind of 9 to 11 mph, the weather service said. Less than a tenth of an inch of rain is expected.

Sunday night, there is a 70 percent chance of showers, then possibly a thunderstorm after 1 a.m., according to the weather service. The low will be around 48. Between a tenth and quarter of an inch of rain is expected.

Monday, there is an 80 percent chance of showers, mainly before 1 p.m., with a high near 70, the weather service said.
