Pro fight night planned May 26 at T-Bones stadium

The Kansas City T-Bones have announced that the club and Carden Combat Sports will hold a special Mixed Martial Arts Fight Night at T-Bones Stadium at 5 p.m. Saturday, May 26.

More than 12 matches of mixed martial arts, boxing and kickboxing are planned with Carden Combat Sports on May 26 in the Carden Combat Sports 4 event at the T-Bones stadium in Kansas City, Kansas.

Kenzie Morrison, 13-0-2, son of Kansas City boxer Tommy Morrison, will be featured on the fight card, officials said. Others on the card will be announced later. Gates will open at 4 p.m. for the event.

The T-Bones held a similar mixed martial arts fight event last September, according to officials. A T-Bones spokesman said the September event was successful and the fight night events are gaining momentum.

A ring and a cage will be placed on the T-Bones’ field, with one between the mound and home plate, and the other a little past the mound. Events will follow each other, back-to-back.

“We’re delighted as an organization to bring back MMA fighting and boxing to T-Bones Stadium in 2018. This event shows the versatility of our park,” said Chris Browne, vice president and general manager of the Kansas City T-Bones, in a news release. “We’re glad to bring championship professional fighting to KCK and the metro area. This will be a fun event.”

John Carden, promoter from Carden Combat Sports, added in the news release, “I am extremely thrilled for the opportunity to partner with the Kansas City T-Bones and bring Combat Sports to the hottest market area in Kansas City. I truly believe that May 26th will be just the beginning of what will be a long and great adventure together for not only the T-Bones and myself but also for the sports fans in this area.”

“The T-Bones are a first-class organization and one of the most successful professional organizations in Kansas. We are excited to be partnering with them and Carden Combat Sports to bring an outstanding night of fights to T-Bones Stadium,” said Adam Roorbach, executive director of the Kansas Athletic Commission, in the news release.

Ticket prices will range from general admission at $20, to $40 for prime seats, $60 for floor seats and $80 for ring-side tables. Seating will be available on the T-Bones field as well as in the stands. Suites also will go for $375 for a minimum of 15 tickets. Tickets are on sale at the T-Bones Stadium Box Office and online at T-BonesBaseball.com or call 913-328-5618.

The T-Bones’ stadium design was made so that “you’re never too far away,” T-Bones spokesman Dan Vaughan said. The T-Bones stadium has about 4,800 fixed seats, with berms providing additional seating.

The T-Bones stadium is located at 1800 Village West Parkway, Kansas City, Kansas, in the Village West area near I-70 and I-435.
