Rain and thunderstorms are in today’s forecast from the National Weather Service, as the temperature drops about 15 degrees from Thursday.
No severe weather is expected in the morning round of storms, but a few strong to marginally severe storms are possible later this afternoon and evening, according to the weather service.
If storms develop, the main hazard would be hail, possibly severe, the weather service said.
Today, showers and possibly a thunderstorm are possible before 11 a.m., then a 60 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms between 11 a.m. and 5 p.m., the weather service said. The high will be near 61 with an east southeast wind of 15 to 17 mph, gusting to 24 mph. Less than a tenth of an inch of rain is expected.
Tonight, there is a 20 percent chance of showers before 8 p.m., with a low of 39, according to the weather service. An east wind of 6 to 16 mph could gust as high as 23 mph.
Saturday, the high will be near 50 with partly sunny skies and a north northwest wind of 7 to 13 mph, the weather service said.
Saturday night, the low will be around 36 with partly cloudy skies, according to the weather service. A north northeast wind of 6 mph will become light and variable after midnight.
Sunday, the high will be near 62 with mostly sunny skies and an east southeast wind of 3 to 8 mph, the weather service said.
Sunday night, there is a 60 percent chance of showers, mostly after 1 a.m., according to the weather service. The low will be around 45. New precipitation amount will be between a tenth and quarter-inch of rain.
Monday, there is a 70 percent chance of showers, mainly before 1 p.m., the weather service said. The high will be near 54 with cloudy skies.
Monday night, the low will be around 36 with mostly cloudy skies, according to the weather service.
Tuesday, the high will be near 50 with mostly cloudy skies, the weather service said.
Tuesday night, the low will be around 34 with mostly cloudy skies, according to the weather service.
