Javier Guerrero-Garcia, 21, who is not a citizen of the United States, is charged with one count of unlawful possession of a firearm by a person illegally in the United States, according to the U.S. attorney’s office.
The crime is alleged to have occurred Jan. 2, 2018, in Wyandotte County, Kan.
If convicted, Guerrero-Garcia faces up to 10 years in federal prison and a fine of up to $250,000. Homeland Security investigated. Assistant U.S. Attorney Chris Oakley is prosecuting.
