Police ask public’s assistance in Minnesota Avenue shooting case

Kansas City, Kansas, police are asking the public’s assistance in investigating the shooting that took place Saturday, Feb. 18, in the 1600 block of Minnesota Avenue.

Eight persons were shot, and one died in the shooting Feb. 18.

A police spokesman stated that many of the participants, victims and witnesses were in fear at the time of the shooting and fled to a safer location. When officers arrived, their first priority was to assist the injured, and they were unable to get information from some of the people at the event.

While people have been calling to give helpful information, many do not know the number or the department to call, according to police. Detectives may be reached either by text message or phone call at 913-549-9275, the spokesman said.
