Police investigate homicide and 7 other shootings in 1600 block of Minnesota

Kansas City, Kansas, police are investigating a homicide at 11:45 p.m. Feb. 17 in the 1600 block of Minnesota Avenue.

A police spokesman said a preliminary investigation revealed a disturbance happened inside the building, and eight people who were there suffered gunshot wounds.

One of the victims, a male in his 20s, died later at a hospital as a result of his injuries, police said.

The other victims were taken to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, according to police.

The incident is under investigation by the Kansas City, Kansas, Police Department’s Criminal Investigations Division. Anyone with information is asked to call the TIPS hotline at 816-474-TIPS.
