The 57th annual Greater Kansas City Mayors’ Prayer Breakfast will be held from 7:30 a.m. to 9 a.m. Thursday, March 1, at the Kansas City Downtown Convention Center Ballroom, 301 W. 13th St., Kansas City, Mo. The guest speaker at the breakfast will be Lamar Hunt Jr., owner of the Kansas City Mavericks hockey team. The breakfast is co-sponsored by more than 30 area mayors. This year the breakfast will benefit the nonprofit Sheffield Place of Kansas City, which helps homeless mothers and their children become more self-sufficient. A Gospel Non-violence Study Group will be offered from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 20, at the Keeler Women’s Center, 2220 Central Ave., Kansas City, Kansas. Members of St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, 1300 N. 18th St., Kansas City, Kansas, will observe the Stations of the Cross at 6:30 p.m. Friday, Feb. 23; a soup supper will follow in the parish hall. The parish will observe the second Sunday in Lent at 10 a.m. Feb. 25.
