Sporting KC acquires $100,000 of general allocation money in trade with Colorado Rapids

Sporting Kansas City announced Tuesday that the club has traded an international roster spot for the 2018 season to the Colorado Rapids in exchange for $100,000 of general allocation money.

Sporting Kansas City has currently filled the seven available international spots on its 2018 roster:

• M Yohan Croizet
• M Felipe Gutierrez
• M Cristian Lobato
• M James Musa
• F Johnny Russell
• F Daniel Salloi

Led by 10th-year manager Peter Vermes, Sporting Kansas City will kick off its 2018 MLS regular season campaign against New York City FC at 6:30 p.m. Sunday, March 4. Tickets for the match at Children’s Mercy Park are available now via SeatGeek.com.

In other recent news from Sporting KC, goalkeeper Andrew Dykstra was traded to the Colorado Rapids in exchange for a natural second-round pick in the 2020 MLS SuperDraft on Feb. 8.
