A fatal accident has been reported on southbound K-7 at Nettleton Avenue in Bonner Springs, according to the Kansas Department of Transportation spokesman.
K-7 southbound was closed at K-32, according to the spokesman. It was closed around 7:39 a.m.
KC Scout reported accidents throughout the area because of slick roads. Besides black ice, there was fog that may have frozen on area roads. The temperature was 27 degrees at 8 a.m., and 31 degrees at 9 a.m.
In Wyandotte County, KC Scout this morning was reporting accidents on southbound I-635 near K-5; eastbound I-60 at I-70; westbound I-70 at I-635; and westbound I-70 on the ramp from Fairfax Trafficway.
KC Scout reported many accidents on I-435 in Johnson County, as well as around the metropolitan area.
