Winter cold expected to move through area next week

Wintry temperatures are expected to arrive in the area next Wednesday, according to the National Weather Service.

A cold front will move through the area Monday, bringing a chance of rain, and then cold air will move into the area behind that front, bringing the first shot of winter-like temperatures for the season, the weather service said.

Today, it will be sunny with a high near 55, and a north northwest wind of 3 to 8 mph, gusting to 20 mph, the weather service said.

Tonight, it will be clear with a low of 35 and a calm wind becoming south around 5 mph after midnight, according to the weather service.

Friday, expect sunny skies and a high near 57, with a light south wind increasing to 5 to 10 mph in the morning, the weather service said.

Friday night, the low will be around 39 with partly cloudy skies and a south southwest wind of 3 to 7 mph, according to the weather service.

Saturday, the high will be 59 with sunny skies, the weather service said. There will be a light and variable wind.

Saturday night, there will be a low of 43 with partly cloudy skies, according to the weather service.

Sunday, the high will be near 65 with partly sunny skies, the weather service said.

Sunday night, the low will be 53 with mostly cloudy skies, according to the weather service.

Monday, the high will be near 62 with partly sunny skies, the weather service said.

Monday night, the low will be around 35 with partly cloudy skies, according to the weather service.

Tuesday, it will be partly sunny with a high near 47, the weather service said.

Tuesday night, the low will be around 28 with partly cloudy skies, according to the weather service.

Wednesday, the high will be near 41 with mostly sunny skies, the weather service said.
