It may be earlier than you think: Set your clocks, check your smoke detector and fire extinguisher

Clocks were turned back one hour overnight, giving residents here an extra hour of sleep.

While setting clocks, it’s a good idea to check or change the batteries in your smoke detector.

Also, this year it is a good idea to check the name and number on your fire extinguishers. Kidde has announced a recall of fire extinguishers with plastic handles because of the failure to discharge and nozzle detachment. There are 37.8 million extinguishers recalled in the United States. The extinguishers were manufactured from 1973 through August 2017.
