The National Weather Service has issued a tornado watch until 1 a.m. for Wyandotte County.
Also under the tornado watch are Johnson, Leavenworth, Miami and Linn counties.
At 5:40 p.m., Wyandotte County was experiencing a thunderstorm with heavy rain, winds and lightning.
