UG Commission to meet Sept. 28

The Unified Government Commission will meet at 5 p.m. and 7 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 28, at City Hall, 701 N. 7th St., Kansas City, Kansas.

The special meeting at 5 p.m. in the fifth floor conference room at City Hall will be a presentation on street preservation and an administrator’s update.

During the 7 p.m. meeting at the Commission Chambers, first floor, City Hall, some planning and zoning items are on the agenda, along with some other items.

The agenda items at the 7 p.m. meeting include:

• 11501 Parallel Parkway, special use permit for a telecommunications tower, Scott Goble.
• 3401 N. 30th St., home occupation special use permit for a barber shop.
• 8121, 8123 and 8125 Parallel Parkway, renewal of a special use permit for live entertainment in conjunction with a restaurant and drinking establishment, Marcie Huckaby.
• 6000 Leavenworth Road, preliminary and final plan review for installation of a purified ice and water kiosk, Denton Stein.
• 1111 and 1115 N. 17th St., and 1619 Nebraska Ave., an ordinance rezoning property from two-family district to planned general industrial district.
