Bridle trail hike planned
A bridle trail hike is planned from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. at Wyandotte County Lake Park, 91st and Leavenworth Road. The program is sponsored by the Mr. and Mrs. F.L. Schlagle Environmental Library at the lake. Those participating are asked to wear appropriate clothing and shoes.

Community discussion planned on future of library
A community discussion on the future of the library will be held from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Saturday, July 29, at the West Wyandotte Library, 1737 N. 82nd, Kansas City, Kansas. Upcoming projects, classes and events will be discussed.

Volunteers invited to help paint Pearson school
The Kansas City, Kansas, Public Schools is joining for the first time with Project Shine in collaboration with Caring for Kids to paint all the classrooms at M.E. Pearson Elementary, 310 N. 11th St., Kansas City, Kansas. The community is invited to help with this effort by volunteering from 7:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Saturday, July 29. Volunteers will need to be 16 years of age or older. All brushes, rollers, ladders and paint will be supplied. Breakfast, lunch and plenty of water will be provided for participants, too. Free concert to be offered at Legends
The Legends Outlets will continue its free outdoor concert series, Legends Live, from 5 to 7 p.m. Saturday evening, July 29, in the courtyard fountain area. Big Time Grain Company, a country western and country rock band, is scheduled to perform today.

Texas AirHogs visiting at CommunityAmerica Ballpark
In Saturday night’s series finale, left-handed pitcher, Michael Freeman (3-3, 4.14) will square off with the T-Bones’ right-handed pitcher, Chris Perry (3-2, 4.84) on the mound. The T-Bones will finish up their 10-game homestand Saturday night against the Airhogs at 7:05 p.m. at CommunityAmerica Ballpark. There will be post-game fireworks.
