The Unified Government Commission will meet for a budget workshop at 6 p.m. Thursday, July 20, at the fifth floor conference room, City Hall, 701 N. 7th St., Kansas City, Kansas.
A public budget hearing on the UG and CDBG budgets will be held Monday, July 27, at the Commission Chambers, City Hall, 701 N. 7th St., Kansas City, Kansas. According to the UG’s current agenda, the hearing will be at 5:30 p.m. Immediately following the public hearing, there will be another budget workshop, if necessary, according to the agenda.

Cities in Kansas usually have until Aug. 1 to prepare the city budget, which usually needs to be certified to the county by Aug. 25. Kansas counties usually have until Aug. 7 to determine the final figure for the county mill levy, and until Aug. 25 to certify the county budget.
