Abducted child found; police seeking suspects

A child who was abducted in a car theft Wednesday night at 7th and Riverview has been found safe, according to authorities.

The child was in a silver Ford Focus whose engine was left running while the driver went into a gas station at 7th and Riverview, Kansas City, Kansas, police said.

A suspect got into the vehicle and fled north on 7th street, with the 4-year-old girl in the car.

The driver, a female wearing an all-blue one-piece short set,, was with a male wearing a neon shirt and gray shorts who was driving an older utility truck, police said.

With the assistance of local and federal agencies, the Ford Focus and child were found near 190th and Evans Road in Leavenworth County, police stated. The child was unharmed and was taken to a hospital for medical attention, according to police.

The Kansas City, Kansas, Police Department is asking the public’s help to identify the two suspects.
