The Sporting KC match with Portland this evening at Children’s Mercy Park in Kansas City, Kansas, ended in a tie, 1-1.

In the second half, Daniel Salloi of Sporting KC scored a goal, tying the game, Sporting KC 1, Portland Timbers 1.

Diego Valeri with the Portland Timbers scored the first goal in the first half.

Coach Peter Vermes said the absence from today’s game of Graham Zusi, Matt Besler and Dom Dwyer had no bearing on the reason for the tied result. The three are away playing for the U.S. Men’s Team.
