Three-vehicle accident reported on I-70

A three-vehicle accident was reported at 11:30 a.m. Friday, May 26, on eastbound I-70, east of the K-7 exit, according to a Kansas Turnpike Authority trooper’s report.

Three vehicles were eastbound on I-70 in the far right lane, slowing or stopping for traffic.

A Ford van ran into the back of a Ford Mustang, knocking it out of the way and pushing it to the left shoulder, according to the trooper’s report. The Ford van then struck the back of a Ford Taurus, causing damage to the rear of the Taurus, according to the trooper’s report.

The driver of the Ford van, a 27-year-old Kansas City, Kansas, man, was injured and taken to a hospital, according to the trooper’s report.

The driver of the Mustang, a 29-year-old Great Bend, Kansas, woman, was also injured and taken to a hospital, the report stated.

The driver of the Taurus, a 68-year-old man from Topeka, Kansas, was not injured, the report stated.
